I slowly made my way with Asfoloth carrying all my stuff. Not that it was a lot, but enough. As I looked back at Riverdale, I could see a small figure at the top tower overlooking the view in my direction. I just kept walking, wondering if I would be able to come back without bursting into tears. Even now, I had tears blurring my eyes, but I just kept walking..trying not to think of the pain.
Arwen leaves Rivendale
Monday, May 19, 2003 10:20 p.m.

We finally departed Rivendell and have began our journeys.Frodo was walking behind me and when I glanced back I saw the sadness in his eyes, how much I wish this hadn't come upon Frodo..but he's the only hope we have and I know he will succeed when the time comes. For a bit all was quiet not one word was spoken from any of the fellowship. But the silence was soon broken but low mumbles from Gimli,Aragorn and Boromir began to speak to each other.I squinted my eyes and looked forward "Not much longer and we'll be at our first destination,we can camp there for the rest of the evening." I spoke to the rest."Great,I'm starving" Sam replied his stomach rumbling.I turned and looked at Frodo and smiled.
Gandalf walks with the Fellowship

Merry walked thoughtfully behind Pippin, looking wistfully back at Rivendell and then soldiering on. Looking ahead, he saw Frodo also glance back sadly, and knew how he felt. In front of him Pippin was fiddling frustratingly with his pack straps. Merry straightened Pippin's clumsily put on cloak and fastened the straps so they wouldn't slide. Pippin gave him a grateful smile, and Merry patted his shoulder as they walked on behind Gimli.

Frodo walked behind Gandalf as the Fellowship left Rivendell. He glanced over his shoulder and sadly looked at the lovely refuge that had given him such peace and comfort. He sighed, squared his shoulders and turned back, hoping for the strength to fulfill his task.
Frodo doesn't want to leave

I felt much remorse after saying what I said to Arwen, but after all it was the truth.I walked around and tended to things the rest of the day and got hardly any sleep at night.Arwen still hasn't come out of her room since I spoke to her.I think it might be good for Arwen if she could get away from Rivendell for a little bit,but I know the last person she wants to see is me.After walking in the garden some more I came across an elven maiden, named Aranel.I figured I send her to speak with Arwen and relay the message to her.
Aranel quickly walks to Arwen's room gently knocks on the door and enters,Arwen is still laying in bed.She walks over and kneels down by Arwen."My lady? I'm sorry to disturb you but I come on behalf of your father,he thought that you might like to travel to Lorien and see your grandmother we have a horse waiting for you if you'd like to go" Arwen sat up on her bed without speaking a word.Aranel laid a clean dress and a bag on her bed, smiled at Arwen and left.

"Father!!" I screamed as I sprung up at the words he was shouting at me!...I could not believe he could go against Aragorn so much! And yet what he said was half true, but at this point I didn't want to hear it. I turned my back around and was walking toward the exit until halfway there father said something that stopped me in my tracks.
"You know that he might not come back."
I turned around to him, my face re-stained with tears.
I could barely hear myself, but I said.
"He WILL come back."
With that I continued my walk to my room where I slept for the rest of the day with my head on my tear stained pillow.
Arwen goes to her room

I watched as the Fellowship departed many thoughts and worries running through my mind. I must have stood there for hours for when I looked to the sky it was dark and the stars were shining.I sighed and my thoughts turned to Arwen I walked down the stairs and through the gardens,I found her asleep on a stone bench.I walked over to her and placed my hand on her shoulder "Arwen?" her eyes began to open still somewhat swollen from crying she sat up and I sat next to her."Aragorn had to leave,he's doing the right thing she looked up at me and began to open her mouth to speak.
